Growing year round with aquaponics is very achievable no matter where you live.A properly designed greenhouse or other indoor growing environment with climate controls will help you achieve your growing vision.There are lots of options well suited for various climates from residential sunrooms, geodesic domes, passive solar greenhouses, commercial or traditional greenhouse structures and warehouse or indoor growing spaces.Each of these options have proven out their viability and we will discuss the various different styles, plans, components and growing environment considerations.
Because climates, seasons, budgets and crops are all different, their isn't a one-size fits all approach to building the "right" growing environment.It's helpful to know your options.

By now you probably know that a well designed aquaponic system can grow a tremendous amount of food with relatively few external inputs.The problem is most greenhouses are very inefficient when it comes to heating, cooling, and overall energy management.Passive Solar Greenhouses are highly insulated structures that can achieve energy savings tenfold over traditional structures by using structurally insulated panels, a GAHT System (ground to air heat transfer), triple wall polycarbonate glazing materials, solar/wind turbines and proper orientation among other features.Passive Solar Greenhouses are especially well suited for challenging growing environments such as locations with high altitudes, extreme weather conditions, poor soils or challenging terrains.
So why not combine the best of both worlds? With a passive solar greenhouse, your aquaponic farm can produce food for you and your customers year-round, in the most energy efficient environment possible.

Lunch will be provided both days with as many farm fresh ingredients as possible. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences.
TRAVEL AND LODGING
GeoTech is only 21 miles from Denver International Airport and right off of I-70 and Steele Street.Parking is available at GeoTech and the tour locations.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations will receive a full refund up to two weeks before class.Less than two weeks before class the refund will be 50%.Less than 48 hours before class there are no refunds.We reserve the right to cancel class if enrollments are low.If you are flying in, please consider purchasing a refundable ticket.
